Moving Forward
After of not touching my flute for 50+ years I picked it up last winter and am now nearing the end of the Rubank Intermediate book. I want to purchase the Advanced book 1 but I hesitate because there are still some things that are taking a really long time for me to grasp in the current book. What do you think? I would really like some new material but I don't want to get discouraged. Also, I'm thinking of buying the Rubank Flute Solos books. I don't want to become bored. Does all of this sound like a good idea? Maybe you have other suggestions. Thanks.

I have a book of actual songs to work on. I do just the exercises for about 10 minutes of my practice. I get bored rather quickly with those, but working on a song can keep my attention a little longer. So maybe do something like that. Biggest thing is to not burn yourself out, so I suggest finding something you want to play and achieve as well.
